Last month, on a beautiful day, I had a shoot scheduled with Japari & Zachary, a darling couple visiting from Nigeria. We had been planning their session for a few weeks and had everything set to go to the beach. The day came and the afternoon weather turned terrible. So we rescheduled for 3 days later, since they were only in the country for the week. This was the beautiful day. The sun was shining, the skies were blue, and they had agreed to come to Mt. Dora since I had another commitment that day. No sooner than 10 minutes after they arrived, the skies turned dark and cloudy. I couldn’t believe it! I wasn’t sure what we should do then Zachary asked if I had a studio. I thought to myself “Indoors with dark clouds? This is going to be impossible”. But I had to make something work for them, they’d come so far and were wanting photos done while here. We got to my studio and started shooting, and I have to say, despite all of the weather issues (it started raining not 5 minutes after we started shooting!) and poor lighting, this is probably my favorite session of all time. The simplicity of the space, the softness of the light, and these two were deeply in love. I’m going to stop talking and let the images speak for themselves.
Thank you, Japari & Zachary, for trusting me fully, when most wouldn’t. I couldn’t be happier for you both, and thank you for letting me share in this time in your lives
