Wishing you and your family a wonderful Thanksgiving day! Stuff yourselves with turkey and squeeze the one you love :)

I had the urge to title this post Fall Family Fotos, but I’m not quite that cool ;). I had the pleasure of photographing this adorable little family the other day, Kyleen was one of the contest winners from earlier this year! It was so great to finally do our shoot. The weather was gorgeous and the light was equally beautiful. Have I ever mentioned the fall light is my ALL TIME favorite light? Its just warm and glowy. I love it! We headed out to my favorite field for the session, and this family rocked it out. Can we just talk about how cute they are together? It was so much fun. I hope that you enjoy the photos, and when you’re done looking at them, get your butt outside! Its beautiful today! :)
The whole gang. I just love this photo.jpg)

Momma and her boys

Dad and his boys

Don’t you just want to squeeze him?! Soo cute!!

If only I were small enough to do this. Its so much fun!

And lastly, the many crazy faces of Aiden. Such a cutie!

Last week I had the great pleasure of going to Washington DC for Kristen & Chris’ engagement session. It was such a blast! I had never been to DC before, and between their shoot and some free time I got a whirlwind tour of the city. And what an incredible city it is. It was quite inspiring. But for their session we walked everywhere and passed practically every monument. But these two didn’t want a “DC government” feel to their photos, so we stuck to parks with a few monuments popping up now and then. I had so much fun with these two, they made me feel like and old friend just in for a visit. I absolutely cannot wait until their wedding in April here in Florida, but I am sure glad I got the opportunity to do their shoot in DC! Thanks again you two for having me!

I think this one if my favorite.
Or maybe this one :)

The Capitol!

This is the view from the roof of the building where they work. How awesome is that?!

A touch of fall with some changing leaves. This Florida girl has to get it where she can!

The Jefferson Memorial
And lastly… the longest part of our trek, the Reflecting Pool that was completely torn up! This is how we all felt about it :)
Thank you both again for everything! See you in April :)

Thank you so much Dylan! They were so comfortable and at ease with each other, I’m pretty sure that is how they look all the time! ;) Thanks for stopping by, its nice to “meet” you!
I love DC, this couple looks so natural together like this is what they look like every time they go for a stroll, great job!
I’m SO glad you got a taste of fall and to see the Capitol, Ashley! I LOVE the 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th images from the bottom…. just love that light that you capture. xx
Such pretty photos! Love the lighting you captured in all these. Kristen & Chris look so happy, what a beautiful couple! :) I really love the close-up in black and white!
She’s the cutest little thing ever :)

Love her beautiful blue eyes! The first is definitely my friend!
I had such an AMAZING time with all 6 of the ladies who came to my very first Photo-Love workshop! We had a great afternoon of learning all of the basic camera functions, what your camera really can do, and how to use it properly in manual mode. And of course, we finished the afternoon with a fantastic shoot, courtesy of my all-time favorite models, Amy & Ben.
For the first part of the workshop, we talked about all sorts of photography things, but then put them to practice in the field
We talked about Depth of Field and how it works

We moved in close to our models

And also backed away, to show how moving yourself changes a photo’s perspective

We played a lot with back-lighting, and how you can properly expose for it

But we also talked about headroom, and the proper amount a photo should have (not too much or too little, make it just right!)

And one of my favorite lessons, we talked about the Rule of Thirds and how centering your subject isn’t always the best thing

Thank you again Amy & Ben for always being such awesome models and for letting all of these ladies photograph you!

And thank you so much, Laurie, Dana, Jessica, Stacey, Melanie & Stephanie for attending and making my very first workshop absolutely perfect! It means so much that all of you came and wanted to learn from me, I could not have asked for better students. I am honored to have you all as friends and also fellow photographers! Thank you all again so very much :)

So sad I missed this! Looks like so much fun! I know that I have a D5100 that I only know how to shoot video for (for our company). I’d love to learn better how to shoot photos with it!
